How It Works

1. Booking Your Session

Once you reach out, you’ll receive an email with all the details, including full pricing and session information (no call required just to access everything upfront). When you’re ready to move forward, you can select your preferred date and time directly through the booking link you’ll be provided with.

A $150 retainer is due at the time of booking to officially reserve your session, and it will be applied toward your session fee. As part of the booking process, you’ll also complete a brief questionnaire so I can learn more about your dog allowing me to thoughtfully tailor the session experience to them.

2. The Session Experience

Your session takes place in our modern, pet-friendly studio designed with your dog’s comfort in mind. They’re free to explore the studio before we start and we encourage lots of positive reinforcement to get used to the backdrop and lighting. This helps create a fear-free, positive environment. There’s no time limit (although most sessions typically last up to an hour) as we go at your dog’s pace to capture genuine expressions and regel portraits. We go through a variety of images captured for your own unique gallery.

3. Viewing Your Gallery

After your session, you’ll receive an online gallery to view your images from the comfort of home. Take your time choosing the photos that speak to your heart.

4. Choosing Your Artwork

Whether you fall in love with digital images, fine art prints, albums, or wall pieces, you’ll have flexible options to invest in what you love most after viewing your final gallery! All wall art and print products come with matching digital files!

FAQs

What is your availability?

Studio sessions are by appointment only, on select times on Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday or Fridays.

Do you only have a black background?

The black background is the signature style of Soul Dog Studio and the foundation of all sessions. If you’d like to include more variety, you can add up to two additional solid backdrop colors into your session.

There’s also a modern, lifestyle set-up! Complete with a cozy couch, and daybed for clients who want a mix of relaxed, home-inspired images (or dogs who would rather be on the furniture than a backdrop!).

What if I have more than one dog?

There is no extra fees for multiple dogs from the same household. They’re all welcomed in for their turn for their own portraits!

What if my dog isn’t well trained / anxious / reactive, etc?

Dogs of all skill levels are welcome at Soul Dog Studio! If your pup needs a little extra time to warm up or doesn’t have the strongest listening skills, just let me know ahead of time so I can plan accordingly.

A basic “sit” and “stay” is helpful for posing on the backdrop, and I encourage practicing this before your session. But rest assured, I’m experienced with all types of personalities and am happy to take things at your dog’s pace to create beautiful portraits.

I’ve spent the last eight years photographing reactive and anxious dogs, and every session is built on a gentle, fear-free approach. Your session is also completely private! We’ll easing in with their favorite treats and toys to help them get comfortable with the backdrop. And if your dog prefers to keep a little distance or needs to stay on a leash, that’s totally okay; leashes can be removed during the editing process. My goal is always to go at your dog’s pace and create portraits that honor who they are.

Do you offer payment plans?

I offer payment plans on any orders! I offer in-house payment plans (with no interest) where we can do weekly or monthly installments, or I offer Afterpay!
